As you may have heard, Openreach has been advertising the big PSTN and ISDN switch-off for years, which is scheduled to happen in 2025. After this date, any services supported on Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) whether traditional voice traffic, alarm systems or payment terminals will need to move to alternatives. The Great Switch-off will impact broadband customers as well since most broadband services are supported by PSTNs and so will need moving to move to a modern variant.
