PSTN and ISDN 2025 Switch Off

The Big Switch off and what your next steps are?

The 2025 Switch Off and what is happening?

As you may have heard, Openreach has been advertising the big PSTN and ISDN switch-off for years, which is scheduled to happen in 2025. After this date, any services supported on Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) whether traditional voice traffic, alarm systems or payment terminals will need to move to alternatives. The Great Switch-off will impact broadband customers as well since most broadband services are supported by PSTNs and so will need moving to move to a modern variant.

You shouldn’t be scared but you should be thinking about your next steps and we are here to help. There are 25 million lines that will need to be transferred and you certainly don’t want to be stuck in the queue while Openreach starts ramping down support and increasing prices to drive the change.

Also while the Switch Off might be the initial reason for moving to VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) the technology comes with a raft of benefits and importantly COST SAVINGS.
